I know that for you my fellow americans, it’s a huge celebration and that you must all be living your best life, enjoying picnics, BBQ’s , parades or pool parties or whatever traditions you may go with . I always considered I was far from being a traditional american as unfortunately I don’t really celebrate most events.  My way of life is very french oriented as is it the place I grew up and have lived for the past 20 years. Apple – Mango mini pastries

Hi guys! Finally it’s the week-end. This week has been emotionally and physicall tiring  knowing all that happened recently. So a little care in this brutal world is really nice. In order to care for me and my peple, food is almost always involved. So a couple days ago, as I had to fest by force because I didn’t get to have breakfast and knowing to take with me, I had this idea to bake little pastries  according  to what was in my fridge.  And because I am the sharing kind and it turned out to be nice, here is the receipe, because you ar worth it. Home- made “Galettes des rois” (Flat pastry cake)

Happy Epiphany. This christian celebration that takes place on january 6th  is celebrated on the first sunday of january, as the 6th is not a bank holiday. The custom is to share a flat pastry cake in which is hidden a char that would make king or queen any person that will find it in their piece. All the contraty of what being a royal is about that is based on being well-born. I know it’s something we largely celebrate in France and I don’t know if it’s the case in anglosaxon countries.
